Whether you want to experience great food and drink from independent businesses or explore historical places, Manchester is a fantastic place to visit.

In this week’s blog at Quality Lets we are looking at the best places to visit in Manchester during a holiday to the city.

Spend the Day Shopping

There are two excellent places to visit in Manchester if you love to shop and want a relaxing day out with friends or family. The Manchester Arndale and The Trafford Centre host a vast selection of popular stores, so you will certainly not run out of places to see or things to do.

The Arndale has shops like Selfridges to get lost in and restaurants like Bella Italia and KFC to eat at. There are LEGO and Disney stores to visit if you have kids, filled with fun toys from their favourite films. If you are looking to have a day out, The Trafford Centre has a Laser Quest or LEGOLAND, in addition to shops, which are great fun for all the family.

Try Out New Restaurants and Bars

The food scene in Manchester is growing. There is street food available from independent sellers at places like Altrincham Market. If you would rather sit in a nice restaurant, Ancoats is full of independent restaurants and bakeries.

Springfields is known for its luxurious places to eat and lovely setting around the restaurants. Alternatively, you can visit The Printworks or The Corn Exchange to eat at one of your favourite places like Nando’s. There is also an ODEON at The printworks, so you can combine going for a meal and watching a film at the cinema.

Be Inspired by Manchester’s History

Sightseeing is easy in Manchester as there is just so much to see. There are museums, historic buildings, theatres and arenas. Some of the best places to visit include:

  • The Lowry
  • AO Arena
  • The Palace Theatre
  • Victoria Baths
  • Museum of Science and Industry
  • Manchester Town Hall
  • People’s History Museum

Whether you are interested in music, comedy and theatre or you want to see art or historical artefacts, there is something for everyone. In addition to this list, there are also libraries, a cathedral and the National Football Museum. You will never run out of things to see.
